Overview
This project focused on developing functional and technical requirements to support evaluation of learning management systems for the NextGenMD curriculum at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The work was driven by the need to identify a more sustainable and effective LMS environment to support the curriculum, particularly for the clinical phases.
My Role
I led project planning and requirements development for the LMS review process. This included organizing the evaluation approach, clarifying stakeholder needs, coordinating vendor engagement, and helping structure a process that could support informed institutional decision-making.
Approach
The project began with clarifying functional and technical requirements across different user groups involved in the curriculum, including leadership, operations staff, faculty, students, and technical support. From there, the work moved into market research, product evaluation, and development of recommendations for leadership.

The evaluation focused on issues that were especially important in a medical education environment, including:

Outcome
This work created a more structured and transparent foundation for evaluating LMS options for the NextGenMD curriculum. It helped clarify institutional priorities, improve stakeholder alignment, and support a more strategic review of systems that could meet the operational and educational needs of the curriculum.
